Two hours later, the dev wallet dumps everything and the chart turns to dust. A week later, the same thing happens on a different coin — same deployer, same story. That is a serial launcher: a dev who deploys memecoin after memecoin, dumps each one, and moves on.

Serial launchers are not traders who made a bad call. They are systematic operators who exploit retail liquidity. Their business model is simple: deploy, hype, dump, repeat. Spotting them early is the difference between a quick loss and avoiding the trade entirely.

Why Dev History Matters

Most memecoins on Solana and EVM chains are created by anonymous wallets. A single deployer might have launched 50 coins in the last month. If 48 of those went to zero within 24 hours, why would the 49th be different?

Checking dev wallet history is not about finding a "good" dev — there is no such thing in memecoins. It is about identifying repeat offenders who have already proven they will sell into your buy. A dev who has never held a coin for more than an hour is a red flag you cannot ignore.

  • High launch frequency: More than 3-5 tokens per week suggests a factory operation, not a genuine project.
  • Consistent dump timing: If the dev always sells within the first 30-60 minutes, that is the playbook.
  • No holding history: A dev who has never held a token for more than a few hours is not building anything.
  • Recycled liquidity: The same wallets buy every new token from this dev at launch, then sell immediately. Those are likely the dev's own bots.

What to Do When You Spot a Serial Launcher

  • Trade only the very early pump if you can get in before the dev sells. This requires speed and a clear exit plan. Most retail cannot execute this successfully.
